It's not short. It's what I'd call semi-long. Long is when it's actually at your shoulders or longer.
Semi-long is when you can't make it stand with wax, but it's still not going to your shoulders.
Short is anything shorter.
But since we're talking about a boy and it was just a short statement, I'd say 'long' was the correct word to use. And thank you, Statyk
