Are there any plans on updating a Machine for Pigs with a Developers Comments Mode of playing? Because at least for me personally it was extremely interesting to playthrough the Dark Descent and listening to developers voices, describing what and why and how and... etc.
When asked about this prior to release the answer was "no", but whether or not this means "no
forever" I can't say.
I'd love a commentary track too
I highly doubt it since TCR seems to be a little pissed with certain reactions. Noone would be in the mood to do that now.

That would make it even better.

Oh, honestly, I presume they were ready for complaints. I do not think Chinese are that stupid not to predict negative reaction. They're beating right into one point - interactive storytelling - and their next project "Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture" is just the continuation of the same experiments with interactive storytelling, they're not interested in usual games development. So I do not believe that Chines could be ever "a little pissed with certain reactions." While they are doing what they are doing it's clearly predictable that the masses won't appreciate their art-games. Just the same with art-house movies. I do not think that David Lynch could be "a little pissed with certain reactions", he knows what he's doing and knows that only a few of people would be happy with his experiments. Same with the Chinese Room. Well, I presume.
Anyway, back to the topic, it would be REALLY COOL to have a commentary mode for a Machine for Pigs.

It is not a matter that someone is pissed, it just no one has any time for that. Both teams are busy with their own projects now.

To record all commentaries is not so long as I know. Yes, of course, that would eat a bit of time. But at the same time REAL LOTS OF PEOPLE would be REAL INTERESTED in playing a Machine for Pigs and listening to Dan Pinchbeck, Peter Howell, Jessica Curry, Frictional guys and other people commentaries. It would be like an extremely anticipated interview with a team of developers with a lots of the explanations what and why and what for and how. And I presume lots of popular magazines would be happy with that too, because they'd get an exclusive interview with a team for free. It could advertise a Machine for Pigs quite a lot, new wave of articles with the quotes from those imagery yet commentaries.
So it's not just about how Chinese and Frictional are busy. It's just a matter of making a decision. It's not SO time consuming to expand a game full of questions with a little bit of answers.
Instead of a commentary track I'd like to have plutomaniac re-record all of the dialogue using his own voice.
Or how about a fan-made commentary? We have fan-commentaries for movies, why not games?

Nice idea but I wouldn't count on it!
Well, they once released some docs for Dear Esther, if this will happen with Pigs as well - there would be actual material for commentaries, instead of... "fanfiction", haha.
