Read through the troubleshooting guide and didn't see anything that helps with my situation, so posting here.

Just got the Penumbra collection on Desura, and none of the games will start. I don't have a log file (guessing the game has to actually run to generate it) But I can give my computer stats.
Xubuntu 12.4 64bit
32bit libraries are installed.
Nvidia GT430 grpahics card with latest driver installed.
Game files are latest available via Desura.

I've tried launching from Desura, (which works with my other games) and running the shell script to launch the game right from the install folder. Neither works. Game doesn't even try to run.
I've also tried verifying my files, and deleting and downloading again, I can't get to to run even enough to give me an error and show me what's wrong, or create the log file that I've seen mentioned a dozen times.

Any ideas appreciated.
If you run the shell script in the terminal it should give some sort of error message?
Moved to LTS.

Good point, I'll try that. Smile

Okay, I started it from a shell, and it says it's looking for libfltk.so.1.1. That file is in the Savage/Libs folder under Desura, seems like it just doesn't know that. It's giving a "cannot open shared file or directory" error.
Not sure about the best practice, but possibly try and copy it to the Libs folder in Penumbra and see if that makes a difference. Or install libfltk into the system itself using USC or apt-get depending on what you are most comfortable with.

Okay, got past that hurdle, now I'm getting this error.

error while loading shared libraries: libalut.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

I have 32bit OpenAL installed.

Is this game just not intended at all to run on 64bit systems? I seem to have seen that it was an issue in one of the other threads. (and if that's the case, I wish it would have said something on Desura before I bought the thing.)
You need to install 32-bit libs for the game to run as it is a 32-bit game.

I already have 32bit libs installed.
Might help, if you change the info to be that the game is 32 bit and not 64 bit, http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thr...l#pid57157

I don't have the checklibs64.sh referred to in that post, (looked for it in the Penumbra install folders, couldn't find it, verified files, still not there, deleted and re-installedreinstalled, still not there, so I'm guessing it's not part of the files available for Penumbra on Desura), is there somewhere I can download it?

I also tried putting this link, (ln -s all/libalut.so.0 libalut.so.0), into the game directory. still getting the same error as before.
