Pweety pweese?
And if not, could you at least say
if Valve gets anything if you activate amnesia using the key from the frictional store? If they do, is it less than what they would get if it was purchased directly through Steam? (when that is available, that is)
Pre-purchases this long on steam, period, are RARE. In fact CIV5 is actually the First I have seen that is over 6 weeks. I Know a steam pre-purchase, if available, would boost pre-orders sales; but I dont think it should be more than 6 weeks before release though.
Question that might have cropped up somewhere else, but I didnt see it here, Linux version on steam? if and when steam release the linux version( Valve said they are).

If there is a Linux version of Steam we will do our best to get Penumbra and Amnesia on it!
I just pre-ordered.
Although I was hoping I would get a Steam key already, so the game would sit on my account as "To be released", or something.

I think about a week before the game is released they will give you a steam key should you request one.
Which got me thinking, would we be able to pre-load the game on steam and have it unlocked once it is released?

You won't need to request one, it will show up on your
shelf.

Oh okay, so how about pre-loading? Or will the steam key only appear after the game has been released?

At the actual game release.
