Sure if you buy it from the store here more money goes to the dev team, but steam is great and if it weren't for steam I wouldn't have known about penumbra, wouldn't have bought the collection and wouldn't have pre-ordered amnesia several months ago( pre-ordered it even without the notification of it being on steam; didnt matter penumbra was that good).

Is it just me, or is that calculation quite strange?

Well, the games normally are $24.98 together, the current price for both outside the package is $17.48 due to Black Plague Gold being on sale but not Overture, and the package price is $19.99, and is 50% off, which is $10, hence $9.99. It is written in a somewhat confusing manner on that page though.
