What does it mean?
I see the astronomical symbols for Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune on the outer ring, and Earth, Venus, and Pluto on the inside. Notably missing: Mars, Uranus and Mercury.
It means World End in 2012! xD
Hehe small joke. Think we will find out that in the story, or its just a nice picture^^
Is it just me or are there no shadows given off from light sources?
Nope, there are no shadow casting related to light sources such as your lantern and candles etc.
Most light sources do give off shadows, but some don't, such as the lantern or candles. This is probably because in real life these kinds of light sources give off very blurry shadows which could be hard to render properly in a video game. In my opinion the no-shadows technique from these light sources is better than having all light sources give off precise shadows. It would be much more noticeably flawed if they chose the latter option.
PS: If you're looking for ultimate high end graphics, maybe an indie horror game isn't the place to look for them.
Even Crysis or Shattered Horizon can't do it properly, though. Possibly STALKER: CoP with DX11, because of the fancy shadows that get blurrier as objects get farther away from surfaces.
Hello, old timer Penumbra fan here. I just played the demo.
But the performance is quite disappointing.
q9550 @ 3.7
GTX 480
(latest drivers)
Played at 2560x1600, everything max, SSAO seems to be the dealbreaker. I can't even set SSAO over 8 before it chugs.

That's odd, I ran it (at only 1680x1050) and I could keep SSAO at high quality with 16 samples with no lag whatsoever.

I don't think Amnesia is made for dualscreen setups, try restarting and playing it on just one screen?

That is a one-screen setup. 30".
And there is absolutely no reason for small or big developers to omit multi-screen support. With the rise of multi-monitor gaming, not supporting these these setups will only create rage from the community. Look at the whole widescreen support fiasco.
