i'm a traditional metal fan who's more into the old school style of music. what heavy metal genre do you guys enjoy the most?

yeah Dio was epic, he will forever live on through his music.

Early Slayer (Show No Mercy), Dio, Venom, Praying Mantis, etc.

Also very much like melodic death metal. Stuff like Dark Tranquility and Amon Amarth.

More modern stuff, which you probably don't like to hear. Nu-metal to some extent, Slipknot especially. All That Remains and Avenged Sevenfold in their earlier days (all their new stuff is terrible). Bullet For My Valentine, Sevendust, Nonpoint, etc. Deftones (though they're kind of soft for modern metal). I also like some avante-garde like Meshuggah.

Doom, Stoner, Sludge, Crust, Powerviolence

The latter 2 are more punk/grind-related but still fit within the 'extreme music' umbrella.

Matthais, I think we're going to get along quite well, it's always nice to run into somebody who knows who Rudimentary Peni is.

I like new stuff, like mixed with rap and hip hop( limp bizkit and early linkin park,
but i also like deathcore ( heaven shall burn, chimaira, winds of plague) and bit power metal ( sabaton ).

I'm a huge thrash metal fan. I like most metal bands, unless they're that new crap like slipknot or whatever. Mainly megadeth, Black Sabbath, Dio, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motorhead, etc...
