It has a slight smell of marketing ploy(and potatoes), but if they do get it up earlier, more power to them.
tbh atleast it's indie games. The poor indie developers will get lots of money through that marketing plan. And it's not like "play call of duty black ops, modern warfare 2 etc".
My personal thought, Valve is not a greedy company. It's too clear to see that Potato Stack helps indie devs. They don't need marketing for Portal 2, because it was already genius and wonderful to begin with.
Plus, for that matter, we got a DLC for free from geniuses behind The Dark Descent.

Ever since valve started the AGR campaign, interest in Portal 2 has multiplied by a factor 7.
I do think this might *slightly* increase their profits.

If you play any of the 13 games on the sack collection with a potato ( There are 36 potatos overall) the amount of "power" you will be generating to the "CPU" will be multiplied.
