Fuckin A! I find Outlast enourmously overrated and more so then slender and its not so good sequel. I also think that Insidious is quite overrated too... Sinister and Lord of Tears are largely underrated and fantastic films, i highly recommend them. RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - RedKnight - 11-09-2014 Five nights at freddy's is overrated.... RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - Gilligan's Hell - 11-09-2014 i kinda agree with that... Spoiler below!
RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - Red - 11-09-2014 I feel like the early Max Payne games were and are underrated, so is the Alan Wake franchise. And then there's a game called "Penumbra", which despite its awesomeness, is rarely known by people I know, although they call themselves gamers. In the other hand, Assasin's Creed franchise is no doubt overrated. It doesn't only show in the amount of fans, but also how many games there've been and will be developed. Not to mention COD and now it seems it's happening to Battlefield aswell, all thanks to EA. Call me biased, but I still feel like it's a rather underrated game, with the other end of the spectrum of horror indie games being Five Night's at Freddy's, which I still believe is criminally overrated. Everyone and their grandma has probably played FNAF, while a couple of people from the 2012 indie horror craze might remember Containment Breach. RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - Newsman Waterpaper - 11-10-2014 Edit: Never mind. RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - Potato - 11-11-2014 Wow, never heard anyone call it scarier than Slender let alone TDD, that's certainly overblowing it. While I find the atmosphere creepy (more-so in earlier versions where the map generation was more random), I don't think it's particularly scary void some parts. I feel like it's more of an experiment for SCP fans to enjoy rather than a full-on horror game like Amnesia. RE: The Most Underrated or Overrated Games/Movies Thread - Red - 11-11-2014 SCP > Slender, ATT > SCP. No way I trying to overblow it in anyway. Even as A fan of the original SCP foundation site I still find CB lacking. You could say it's a experiment but it's a experiment I didn't enjoy. I don't want say it's a bad game, I just feel it needs some big improvements to help juice up gameplay, give the more interesting SCPs more screentime/ Make 173/jumpscares less frequent.I wasn't insinuating that you were overblowing it, I was saying that whoever said it's scarier than TDD was overblowing it, as I don't believe that's true. That said, all your criticisms I agree with as I find that they're all downfalls of the game in some lights. I still find it a fun project to help out with whenever I can though, it's interesting to watch it grow from the base game with just 173 and 106 to how it is now. |
