I haven't had a chance to see any of this stuff or myself outside of this thread or think much about it (I'm at work), but I wanted to post a few thoughts:

I think the "key/tome" part here has yet to be discovered (unless this is "Inscriptions of the Nile" thing -- was this found underneath some stairs in the game?)
The symbols (hieroglyphs) and letters (posted earlier), in conjunction with the tome, are most likely the cypher for the Omen letter or passwords for the RAR file(s). Nightmare-magician here probably means Frictional Games (and dreams being the games created by FG.) Alternatively, Daniel is a "nightmare-magician" in all the stuff he conjures out of his dreams. Either way, the sentiment is the same, I think.

My guess is that the Omen letter posted earlier pertains to a different game in the Potato Sack and is pertinent to Valve's ARG thing for Portal 2 (no use in our realm, etc.).

This is probably the sound file posted earlier. I'm guessing "boiling layers" and "forgotten memories" is important somehow -- or it could just mean the RARs are DLC.
In regards to the soundfile, of particular note are the questions she asks (names of my favorite nightmare-magican's dreams):- "The man who escaped death in Grenoble, who is he?"
- "Who is hunting me?"
- "And, who is the Banished One?"
- "I would call on Gabriel to help. You know him - where did you meet him?"
- "Where did you leave your sister?"
I haven't played the game in awhile, so I can't recall the answers to these off the top off my head. Someone else will have to look them up.

Also, the Omen probably forms some kind of image or piece of of an image file that looks like a face -- and is again for Valve's ARG and not pertinent for the RAR files.
