We're just going to have to wait and see. I've done as much digging as I can, I can't find anything that confirms these rumors. Quote:Further Qualifications: RE: Frictional Games Super Secret Project Thread - GrAVit - 10-22-2012 This game will be awesome. RE: Frictional Games Super Secret Project Thread - Kein - 10-22-2012 Frictional is trying their hands on Sci-Fi? Paint me surprised and intrigued, definitely looking forward to see what kind of concept they will come up with and what do they do in this genre. Keep your jimmies at peace, dude, it is still a horror: "first person horror, that will take things deeper than what Amnesia did and have a more consistent theme." I'm not saying it won't be, I already know about that post.Wouldn't it be a waste of time searching for a level designer with particulary interrest in Sci-Fi if your not supposed to use this knowledge and interrest? RE: Frictional Games Super Secret Project Thread - Jdog8998 - 10-24-2012 (10-23-2012, 09:13 AM)Dutton Wrote: Wouldn't it be a waste of time searching for a level designer with particulary interrest in Sci-Fi if your not supposed to use this knowledge and interrest? right? I'm not sure why your telling me thisSure, it can be sci fi, but its just a rumor its until its been confirmed by someone from frictional. That doesn't mean I'm saying that its not going to be sci fi, or saying that I think its not going to be sci fi. I'm just saying that is not official until its confirmed, which makes it a rumor. That's all I'm saying. Honestly, it could be anything. It can have sci fi elements, it could be whatever. It could even be the next system shock, who knows. For now, that's my view. Obviously something has some involvement with science fiction, but Amnesia had science fiction in it, but we don't call that game a science fiction horror game. Amnesia could be considered many things. Everything at this point is just speculation. Its just a matter of opinion. All I'm saying is that its that is a rumor, because it is. If there is no one from frictional saying exactly what the game contains or consists of, then everything is speculation, which makes it a rumor. I was on some forums earlier, and people were thinking its going to be the next system shock 3. Some people thought it was going to be open world/apocalyptic. Its all up for speculation at this point, making all this stuff, a big rumor. I'm not sure how much more I can explain myself, lol. Sci fi could mean literally anything at this point. That's why I say its a rumor, because sci fi just means anything. There is so much context to be covered that has to do with sci fi. I'm sure its going to have sci fi in it, obviously, but how? There's just endless possibilities. I have no idea whats coming so I'm just calling it a rumor for now. I'm guessing it will still have the Lovecraftian kind of thing going on. Personally, I'm really looking forward to it more than AAMFP. As much as I loved Amnesia, I'm ready for something new RE: Frictional Games Super Secret Project Thread - The Rock Worm - 11-07-2012 (10-25-2012, 12:33 AM)Jdog8998 Wrote:I like Amnesia too and looking forward to trying out Amnesia 2 (though I liked Penumbra a bit better for that 'realistic' feel to the story).(10-24-2012, 07:57 AM)Dutton Wrote: Well sure it's still a rumor, but i just pointed out that they most likley were going to create a more sci-fi based game since that's the qualification requirements for their level designer job :p.Sure, but I'm kind of speculating what kind of sci fi we are dealing with here. As much as I loved Amnesia, I'm ready for something new SciFi (even a small amount) would add to the story possibilities. My own (though small) story The Dark Depths (still in production) has a brilliant scientist who's ideas are ahead of our modern time (having this guy gives me some play room for loads of 'possible' deep sea technology and monsters). Lovecraftian monsters would be neat to see as well ( as long as they don't see us). Granted Penumbra's Gray Rock Worm is similar to Lovecraft's Dhole, but some of the more 'interesting' ones would be neat to see. |
