RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - MyRedNeptune - 04-03-2014 (04-03-2014, 02:03 PM)ReadingNotAllowed Wrote: Sure, there seem to be some bassoons at 1:15... but they're too inappreciable, not to mention conventional. This is better than no bassoons at all, but still unsatisfactory. Mikko, we are counting on you! RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Tesseract - 04-04-2014 I had a feeling this game was going to be an underwater thing - I rather like the idea of a horror game set under the water. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Damascus Rose - 04-04-2014 I like underwater a lot more than space. I'm glad it wasn't space like people were starting to think RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - VaeVictis - 04-04-2014 (04-04-2014, 04:28 AM)Damascus Rose Wrote: I like underwater a lot more than space. I wonder if we're going to see any more Lovecraftian mythos like the 'Deep Ones'? RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Draug - 04-04-2014 I am curious how they connect the "alien-technology"-theme with the underwater setting. For now I can only think of the movie "the abyss" from james cameron when I see the trailer. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Alardem - 04-04-2014 I see hammerhead sharks - possibly something you'll need to avoid? I imagine you'll be able to walk/swim underwater in a diver's suit ala Bioshock 2. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - OriginalUsername - 04-04-2014 Here's a pretty good article about soma. They say it's not like bioshock at all. It's more focused on horror and puzzles. It's a good read, give it a try. http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/soma-hands-on-submurged-scares-in-frictionals-sci-fi-horror/?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=emp&utm_campaign=uk RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - ReadingNotAllowed - 04-04-2014 (04-04-2014, 12:13 PM)OriginalUsername Wrote: Here's a pretty good article about soma. Damn those pictures are beautiful RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Sampyli - 04-04-2014 (04-04-2014, 12:13 PM)OriginalUsername Wrote: Here's a pretty good article about soma. And you go around underwater in "a breathing apparatus"? Interesting .. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Alardem - 04-04-2014 I'm not sure if the whole game will be like that. And I'd argue that the first Bioshock was, in a way, a horror game in terms of atmosphere. Gameplay-wise, of course, the tone was undermined by all the obligatory gunfights and magical violence you were allowed to do. |
