The log says that it runs perfectly fine using the Nvidia card so it doesn't have to do with the intel card. Well, forget about the menu, does it lag in-game? This is really strange for such a graphics card. Try closing background applications that might interfere or any trainers. Try running the game directly from the Amnesia.exe file instead of launcher.exe.

I have tried everything you suggested, and it still lags in-game too. I am not getting consistent 60 fps like many GTX 580 users have.
Even if it ran on the card, why does it still not detect my video card in launcher?

it has to do with your computer somehow. Maybe you have overclocked the card and it lags always because of that? I don't know. It's not the game though, that's for sure.

It's not the game though, that's for sure.I doubt it's because of the overclock. I overclocked it safely using MSI afterburner, and it performs well at great temperatures on every other game. I've recently been playing Dead Island completely maxed out at 60+ fps no problem.
Maybe I'll just stick to Penumbra for now

SSAO samples should not be set above 32, or even 16 will do and if that does not help then setting SSAO quality to medium instead of high should do it. The difference is minimal but the performance impact is huge, even for highend cards (not because the hardware, because how it is implemented and how high you are allowed to set these settings).

I have a GTX 460 which is almost 1/2 of a GTX 580 and I have all settings maxed out with SSAO to the roof. No performance issues at all. It has to do with his computer somehow but I don't know why really...

sooo i have just bought a new laptop andd it has the intel HD graphics 3000 and it has dedicated ram and a processor that can handle amnesia but can my laptop actually run it?? ive played amnesia at a friends house and i love it and if it cant run on my comp i suggest the creators shud let intel graphic cards work like mine or higher :/

such a card will work with the latest intel drivers. However:
Nvidia GTX 580 = 10x better than Intel HD Graphics 3000
