Alright, seems like I have potentially solved the problem. I went into Nvidia control panel, went to 3D settings, adjusted the quality/performance slider, balanced it. It was set on quality, now it's in the middle. I get 60fps while playing Amnesia normally AND recording. Both Vsync and SSAO are on. SSAO on 16 samples, medium resolution.
