Haven't heard of the second one, but dark room has a disorganized installation. Extracting everything to the custom_stories folder isn't the proper way to install dark room. The folder structure of dark room assumes retail edition of Amnesia, and if you don't extract everything to the folder where Amnesia is installed (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Amnesia - The Dark Descent), then it's not properly installed.

If they're contained to one folder and aren't full conversions, then they should.
