What font are you trying to turn into a .fnt file?

Not sure if you have the proper decryption for this on your computer so I'll just link to their Wikipedia pages just as a precaution:

Unlike the English alphabet, these Chinese fonts both contain well over 20,000 characters to convert.

I'll say again that the launcher was able to identify the font just fine while the game engine crashed when trying it.

Yeah, that font is too complex for me to figure out how to get it to function properly with the game.

Figure out how to get it functioning? What would you need to do to get it working normally?

I don't know. All i can offer is an alternative that may or may not work, but if it does, it is limited to Journal related entries and possibly SetMessage.
