What will the new minimum system requirements be for ram?
Sticking to 256ram?
Or moving forward to 512?

Not decided. Also, RAM is not really set per engine, but rather per game. It depends alot on the size of levels, size and amount of texture, etc.

Well yea; but it's the basic idea of will HPL2 require a better system to run than HPL1? Are you sticking with appealing to a larger crowd, or more to new computers.

Some of the older graphics cards like Geforce 3 will most likely not work with the engine. But the plan is to make all the features we want on as many configurations as possible. Most of the people that play Penumbra well should not need to update their systems.

Will HPL2 be able to handle outdoors. I really like HPL1, but I think it is limited by not having any real options for making a skybox, or am I missing something. With the ability to go outside, it will increase the moddability of the game as well as the general use of the engine. Also, I understand that eventually you want to license the HPL1/2 engine out to other companies? Is that true?

Very nice game, I am excited to play it.

PS: I haven't played the game yet, so if I made an obvious blunder tell me. I'm getting a new computer that can run it in a month or so...

sebbonaparte:

- The plan is for it to handle outdoors much better. This will not be any Crysis like environments, but much better than HPL1.
- Licencing is something we are considering for HPL2.

Hope you get to try out Penumbra soon will enjoy doing soSmile

Could you reveal the genre of the new games? Smile
Still continue making horror games - or something new this time?

Will the physics engine be updated? At the moment, collision can be whacky, and sometimes even falling through the floor!
