It happened in the beginning. I started Justine first though before the main storyline.

STILL stuttering! Man this is driving me insane!

It's still stuttering.

full of errors, try updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version and also disable other programs in the background that might interfere with the game including antivirus etc...

RE: laggy as hell - blake123 - 01-08-2013

I updated everything.

I'm also using Windows 8 if that helps.

This happens every time you start a new game I see. Does it still happen if you go to documents and rename the folder Amnesia to Amnesia-test?

RE: laggy as hell - blake123 - 01-08-2013

I haven't tried that actually. Give me a few minutes and I'll report back.

I didn't really get any stuttering this time.

Although the errors are still there, that's good. With that trick you make the game recreate the configuration files and settings. Maybe steam corrupted them somehow. There are some errors though that usually indicate not updated graphics card drivers or drivers that do not work correctly. Can you reinstall the latest catalyst just to make sure? After that, try the file integrity check now again, it might solve everything. If not then at least it does not lag anymore and the game can be played.

I've already reinstalled the driver, and will do file integrity check. Is there a way I can reinstall the game manually?

EDIT: The game size seems to have shrunk from 2 GB to 1GB

All you can do through steam is to right click the game and select remove local content (a.k.a uninstall it), and then redownload it.

It says all files were validated correctly
