RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - mZLY - 01-11-2013 No, if you read a few posts above ^^ My system crashed and I had to hard restart. RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - maarten12100 - 01-11-2013 Well if you have SSAO set to above 32 samples your gpu won't be able to do it. If I set it up to 64 I will get 20/25 fps gtx570 RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - mZLY - 01-11-2013 I'm getting a solid 60 FPS with no drops with SSAO samples set to 128 until a part of the game with speech, where it all goes to hell and I drop down to 15 FPS. My hardware and/or game settings aren't the problem. The 6970 is a fair bit more powerful than the 570 I believe. RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - plutomaniac - 01-11-2013 Guys it is not that, his system is more than capable of running Amnesia at full settings no matter what. To know if the game is causing something I need a full log. Run the game, load a save until the fps drop occurs and then exit normally. Reattach hpl.log afterwards. RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - mZLY - 01-11-2013 Okay, since the crash I'm getting 30 FPS on the main menu and 15-30 FPS in-game even in the areas where I was playing with 60 FPS earlier. :S The good news is no more crashes though. Attached new log, lots of 'could not find entity' and 'does not exist any more' but no real errors that I can see. IDK, you probably have a better understanding of the log than me... RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - plutomaniac - 01-11-2013 That's why the fps is low, because of the many errors. If you do a file integrity check via steam one or two times do the errors go away (and thus the fps go up)? RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - mZLY - 01-11-2013 No. I've tried to verify game files 2 or 3 times and each time it says 100% files checked and doesn't download anything. You think maybe a complete uninstall/delete and reinstall would help? RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - plutomaniac - 01-11-2013 Yes, that's what I was going to suggest right now. We fixed a similar problem one or two ways ago by doing that. Uninstall the game via steam (right click > remove local content) and let it redownload and install from the beginning. RE: Massive FPS Drop on High Spec Rig ? - mZLY - 01-11-2013 Okay, great. I'll try that then. I'll get back to you tomorrow or something once I've reinstalled and loaded the game up again. Thanks a lot for your time and help. |
