I love the speculation in this forum, we have some of the best artists in the industry working on this title. Don't bash until you've played it and you know the context.

Story is set in late 19th century in an industrialized city....not a centuries-old crumbling castle in the middle of Prussia. I'm pretty sure neat and tidy should fit just fine for the story, particularly the scenes you mentioned.
