When I heard that piece of commentary, however, I assumed Jens meant that there were three escape routes from the cell. That is, the breakable wall, the gap in the bars and a mysterious third one. Maybe the man himself can enlighten us
What did you stand on to jump through the gap once you had removed the iron bar? I tried the chair and the bed but couldn't get through, so I just broke through the wall.

I know your question was directed at Paddy, but when I used that solution to get out of the cell, I stood on the bed.
