The short minute or so of gameplay footage towards the end of AAMFP's Halloween trailer was vastly scarier and more atmospheric than anything Outlast has shown us.

Come on. Use your imagination.

Not fair to judge either game yet. But based on the pre-release footage I am leaning toward AAMFP. Not out of any kind of fanboyism, but Outlast honestly just looks a good deal more cliche to me. It looks well made, definitely, but the setting and style of the enemies... Just, kind of boring honestly.

Ironic cause AMFP already has both.

There is the old king which is black plague, Amnesia TDD was less scary than Overture BP

But it doesn't rely on them.

I've always liked to think that Amnesia sprinkles those about in order to add tension and build upon fear. Rather than simply startle you by sticking jumpscares at every corner.

Sir, you have to stop forcing me into giving you +1 reputation every time you post in threads like these.

For me Outlast is gonna be so awesome. The problem is that it's comming out like 3 days before amnesia or something so i won't have that much time to play it xD. But it will be fine as a warmup and I'll probably finish it after i do Amnesia (which i hope will take me months)

I have confidence that it will be on par or even better than TDD. If you don't believe in TCR, believe in FG's opinion on the game.

As for Outlast... it looks well designed, but it looks like it relies too heavily on jump scares and that monster isn't very creative. Also, really? An asylum? Never seen that before.

Outlast doesn't look scary....
