How about this then? ATI 5450.

You'd be hard pressed to find anything capable of running anything if you go any lower.

Now that's something more acceptable, but the true question was "how to determine the maximum GPU and memory clock that my motherboard is capable of supporting". GPU upgrading can wait a little, right now things aren't the best. But thanks for the offers either way!

Actually now that I looked it up, I would actually say your current graphics card has more power than the 5450.

Although the 5450 is definitely newer so it might still be better? I don't really know.

2 things to keep an eye on: GPU and memory clock. That's usually how I try to make my comparisons, and I don't always pay attention to some of the features.

I did see that a Geforce 210 has better clocks than the 9500GT.

But so far, original question still remains unanswered, lol.

RE: Need a little help, please? - Kreekakon - 09-16-2013

Your motherboard has nothing to do with how powerful a card you can install except for the type of slot it has which was already resolved earlier. Sometimes if your CPU is too weak it can bottleneck more powerful graphics cards, but since we're talking about low, LOW end graphics cards that will never be a problem.

Another thing to consider is your computer's power supply, but when dealing with cards this weak I don't think it matters all that much.

RE: Need a little help, please? - Robby - 09-16-2013

Ok then. I see.

I'm not intending to get a powerful card like the ones mentioned, just something that's enough. I'm not too concerned about the CPU, it's 3GHZ dual core, it's just my PC is weakened by the GPU and intended to get something slightly better, but I wasn't sure as to my motherboard would be capable of handling it.

Power supply isn't a problem.

RE: Need a little help, please? - Kreekakon - 09-16-2013

Well the only thing you have to worry about with the motherboard for graphics cards is the slot, and since that's okay, it's all smooth sailing from here Smile

RE: Need a little help, please? - Robby - 09-16-2013

The slot is PCIe 2.0, but PCIe x16 also works. I paid attention to these.

Yep all good!

OK, that's all I needed to know. Feel free to close this thread if you wish, good to know the answer I was pretty much looking for. Thanks to all who lended their answers, especially Kreeks.
