RE: Problem with router ports - Deep One - 10-02-2013

Well, I'm lvl 6 support.

RE: Problem with router ports - plutomaniac - 10-03-2013

It's normal for port 80 to be blocked. Most ISPs block common ports like 25, 80 etc. Basically, you need to port forward these ports via the router menu. It's usually called Port Forwarding or Virtual Server and can be found under NAT most of the time.

RE: Problem with router ports - Yuhaney - 10-03-2013

I'm lvl 5 with everything except Sharpshooter, which is lvl 6.
If you want to kill some ZEDs, let me know!

RE: Problem with router ports - The chaser - 10-03-2013

Yesterday I made a listening server and it actually worked, Dogfood (or Digital_animal) and I played 2 matches, his lag was, however, as terrible as mine: That made me think.

When I try to play multiplayer, I usually get like 300 of ping, more or less what dogfood had (when Deep One got in at the final, that went up to 1000).
By what I know, Dogfood and Deep One have good internet services. Is there something that could be slowing my router speed? That would explain why I get ok-ish results here but not in real-time:

I have deleted the final part of my IP for security, the IP is okay though:

Many thanks for answering everyone! Although the issue isn't fixed, your commentaries are greatly appreciated Smile

Edit:

Sure, Scraper. I must say, sharpshooter has it's charm, though I like a lot being a medic. What I like of KF is that when you play enough, you know what to do, and there aren't many idiot players like *other generic FPS multiplayer games I'm not going to bring here*

This game enforces teamwork, which is something rarely seen.

RE: Problem with router ports - plutomaniac - 10-03-2013

These are local LAN IPs so even I saw it I wouldn't care really! Just saying. Smile Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any problems with how the ports are opened. Canyouseeme should have no problem communicating with port 51413 for example.

Your internet connection is extremely (EXTREMELY) slow. You should barely be able to host a server, probably not at all. What's your advertised speed (what speed does your ISP provide you)?

RE: Problem with router ports - The chaser - 10-03-2013

Strange... Canyouseeme.org is a website I used for looking at ports, and, although it detects the "Transmission" ports as opened, it doesn't with Killing Floor... any ideas?

I heard that I had to port forward the killing floor ports, but I don't know how to do that...

BTW, my ISP (Telefonica) provides me with 1 MB (although the contract is of 10, I'm in a town and they already said that I wouldn't get that much), but obviously I'm not getting that MB...

EDIT: As you can see, my internet life isn't as intense as others, I even have to wait for youtube advertisements to load. And we better don't talk about Steam downloading stuff.

RE: Problem with router ports - plutomaniac - 10-03-2013

If one game works then we know that the NAT server works. It could be Killing Floor causing this, maybe an in-game setting or windows (or 3rd party) firewall blocking it?

My internet contact is 24Mbps but my area supports 15Mbps which I have no problem with. But if you pay for 10 and get only 1, that's too little. There might be a problem with your line, router or similar. I suggest you ask them if something is wrong, and I suspect there is.

RE: Problem with router ports - PutraenusAlivius - 10-03-2013

My internet speed is just 200-400 Kbps! So it's odd that my speed is faster.

RE: Problem with router ports - plutomaniac - 10-03-2013

You have 4Mbps probably but, due to somewhat-low S/N ratio (SNR), you synchronize to around 3 and thus 400Kbps. It's faster and there is no strange thing about it.

RE: Problem with router ports - The chaser - 10-08-2013

Okay, great news! People are able to join (Dogfood and DeepOne have been able to join, so I don't see why others no).

There's a problem, however: When they play, it's like my router had to split the work: While I have 0 ping (because I'm the server), others have 300. I have to mention that I can play some matches well now Smile
