RE: How many copies have been sold? - Cuyir - 10-05-2013 Oh boy. The difference in TDD and AMFP is not the jumpscares per se. It's the approach to scares and atmosphere. TDD was more intense and adrenaline focused (all the chase sequences, forced encounters, violent macabre content) while AMFP was more cerebral and subdued (less chase sequences, more psychological horror paired with some grisly visuals of human extremes and how the pigmen were eerily ''normal'' when they weren't trying to kill anyone). Some people were expecting the TDD brand of horror. RE: How many copies have been sold? - Kreekakon - 10-05-2013 Okok guys, let's not deviate too far here. The main point of the thread is how many games have probably been sold thus far. RE: How many copies have been sold? - Paddy™ - 10-05-2013 Jens posted this in the mod forum 3 days ago, I'm sure he won't mind if I share it here: jens Wrote:<snip> RE: How many copies have been sold? - Statyk - 10-05-2013 Seems legit RE: How many copies have been sold? - plutomaniac - 10-05-2013 Dah! There's a reason I'm mentioned at the credits. Blackmail, those photos are way too kinky to be, oh let's say "accidentally", leaked! Proof pic coming for the non-believers... EDIT: There we go! ![]() RE: How many copies have been sold? - Froge - 10-05-2013 (10-05-2013, 07:15 PM)Diz Wrote: I don't know where this is coming from, and I loved AAMFP myself, but saying TDD had more jumpscares is plain wrong in my opinion. TDD had like three or four jumpscares throughout the entire game, what I consider proper jumpscares anyway, while AAMFP seemed to rely on them a lot more. .......What? RE: How many copies have been sold? - zico - 10-05-2013 Wait. FG has shares? Really? I think I'm gonna buy me a company. And then it will be LINUX-ONLY GAMES in the future! Nyahahahahah! RE: How many copies have been sold? - Rya.Reisender - 10-07-2013 TDD is better than AMFP, so it makes sense if it sold better. I mean while I of course don't want any of the two companies (FG and TCR) to lose money and have to drop game development, I think it would just be fair if AMFP sells less and not as well just because of its famous prequel. Low sales are often the only thing that gets developers to change/improve based on player feedback and I think here's it's particularly important to learn from the mistakes done. RE: How many copies have been sold? - Kein - 10-07-2013 247k atm RE: How many copies have been sold? - darkely - 10-07-2013 Hopefully TCR goes out of business eventually. People wanted Amnesia: AMFP, and instead we got Dear Amnesia. All of the puzzles were bland, and really walking down corridors lost it's appeal after the first hour or so. |
