You should try what Statyk said, copy the default bg map and try and use it in your mod and see if that works.
I didn't know if he meant my original or the games. I'll try that right now.
EDIT: I copied the original over and still, the same thing.
I somehow managed to remove the main_menu directory in the resources.cfg. I wrote it back in and the problem is now solved. Thank you all for the help!
