That's probably deph of field. Most of the games use that to to separate what's close and what's far from you by blurring the screen space you're not focusing on to add more deph to the scene. Don't think HPL2 have this feature so maybe it's new in HPL3
Anyway, the screenshot looks amazing, and reminds me too a bit of Dead Space which is awesome. Also, don't know if I'm the only one that thinks like this but that guy with the tentacles looks dead, like a statue.

hnnnnnnnnnngggggggg why must you hurt me this way? This looks great. I know it's not space related (or it might, idk), but this sci-fi like horror is my favorite. Dead Space is my all time favorite series. Hopefully this will fulfill my hype. :O

Played it twice because in the end it lets you start a new game while keeping all your upgrades, nodes and stuff. That level 6 white suit was just too much for me to resist - you kinda look like a stormtrooper!

That thing looks great! Brings me Bioshock to mind somehow.
Dead Space 1 & 2 were good in my opinion but Dead Space 3.... , oh boy. the environments changed too drastically, plot was rushed and i didn't like the new weapon system they gave, i am not into customizing guns so much.
