RE: The Do's and Dont's of Horror Gaming - victorkim890(KimmyChimmy) - 07-21-2014 u mean when he scream Quote:Games like Amnesia are not the only "horror" games. There are many horror games which blend elements of other genres like Resident Evil, Dead Space, and Silent Hill. Whether or, not they're really scary is a another thing entirely, but they are horror games nonetheless. first person horror games are more fun than 3rd person cause then its like gta5 but a horror map instead of the city RE: The Do's and Dont's of Horror Gaming - MrWhitticus - 07-21-2014 Not all first person horror games are for your "stuck in house with monster" aesthetic, I listed a bunch already, some if which were first person RE: The Do's and Dont's of Horror Gaming - eliasfrost - 07-23-2014 Not all horror games has to be explicit horror though, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream crawls under my skin but it's not explicitly horror like the Frictional Games or Silent Hill. It's a sci-fi thriller with a rather unique premise and a ominous undertone throughout the whole game. Sanitarium is also really good, there's no traditional horror elements in it as it's a point & click game but the atmosphere is enough to get you nervous. For me, a good horror game is one that makes you shiver by thinking about it's subject matter be it in the context of the game or outside. That takes some serious skills. Philosophical horror, if you will. RE: The Do's and Dont's of Horror Gaming - Daktoa - 07-24-2014 If you only play games you've watched a LPer play then there's no way you'll get scared by them cause you expect them. |
