RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Yuhaney - 05-21-2009 Have you installed the latest patch? Install the 1.0.3 version of patch for Overture, it's the latest. RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Andromedax - 06-06-2009 Same problem here, (got an ATI RADEON 2600 PRO) I browsed through the forums and tried the following solutions, none of them worked : - Installing patch 1.0.3 - Disabling ATI A.I. - Upgrading my drivers (well they were already up to date) - Downgrading my drivers Any ideas ? RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Stravaganza - 06-06-2009 (06-06-2009, 01:29 PM)Andromedax Wrote: Same problem here, (got an ATI RADEON 2600 PRO) I have a Radeon HD 2600 XT and experience the same "missing objects" bug. On top of that, some of the moveable objects ingame sometimes increase their size to tenfolds of the original. The latter bug was kind of cool the first time i saw it! It was in the mines of EP1 and a pair of boots looked like they belonged to a giant. But the novelty quickly wore off as i ran into a giant ketchup bottle or something like it afterwards. Sometimes the bug disappears if you leave the area and return. (Eg, making it "load" it all over again) I'm running Windows 7 x64 and have gone through the same four steps as Andromedax. At first i thought that Win7 was the issue, since it's in beta and all, but my Windows XP x86, wich I'm dual-booting, is giving me the same bug. Apart from abovementioned GFX accelerator im using an AMD Athlon x64 processor on an nForce 4-based chipset. My version of the game is bought through steam. Alot of other ATI users seem to have issues with this game too: http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2835 http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2823 http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2789 < Giant shoes! http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2864 Steam forums http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=cf1f239170112b3ee0bc221af7404ee7&t=822329 (Not sure if ATI is involved in above post, but it's the same issue. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=cf1f239170112b3ee0bc221af7404ee7&t=889550 And etc... Am i missing something here? I keep hearing about this patch that should fix some graphical errors, and that same patch should have been incorporated into the steam release a while ago? Edit; I really hope to get this game up and running as its by far one of the more interesting suspense games out there. The graphical errors just takes the horror out of it and replaces it with frustration and the ability not to take the game seriously. RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Yuhaney - 06-06-2009 I had graphical problems with my Overture (boxed) first time in my life when I used ATI's card, but it all fixed when I installed latest patch... RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Stravaganza - 06-06-2009 How do i determine wich version of the game i'm running? RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Yuhaney - 06-06-2009 Steam version is ranked as downloadable version. So, I guess you should try the patches for downloadable version of the game. Though, I cannot be sure is there difference between the games downloaded from different places... But I guess not? RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Stravaganza - 06-06-2009 Ok, but how do i determine what version of the game I've downloaded through Steam? I would really like to know if it's already updated when downloaded from Steam. Edit; Here's five videos i just recorded moments ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeswsXAle2Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ0EcXNcZDQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKc7nEjwSEE (MegaBoots) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGJn7lkXY7g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3ir4cjIusM RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Stravaganza - 06-07-2009 I'm sorry to shamelessly bump this post, but in my opinion this is a cause for concern. Albeit being ridicously cheap on Steam I still think it's fair to get some sort of reply from someone about whether this is related to ATI's hardware or not. RE: Missing ground in snow valley - Yuhaney - 06-07-2009 Sorry, I don't know which version they sell through Steam... : Doesn't they say that somewhere? ReadMe or something..? |
