Checking code and now I know where it crashes, but it is quite strange. Seems to be at a buffer swap.
Do you know if the 2006 Tech Demo runs on your computer?
Could you try open settings.cfg (found in "My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1") and try setting Fullscreen to false?

Ill try Tech demo in a sec, and i dont seem to have settings.cfg in "My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1" ....only hpl.log and hpl_update.log which is empty
Edit: Nope, nothing works.

copy default_settings.cfg, found in redist/config where you installed the game, to "My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1" and rename it to settings.cfg. Now you can try to set fullscreen to false.

I think i goofed....i downloaded the DEMO from the site, not the Tech demo....
Although, copying and renaming settings didin't help.....waiting on the Tech demo now..

Do not rely on what vista tells you. Go to nvidias site and get the latest drivers to be sure.
I installed new drivers, but with the same result. There is no hpl.log on my entire disc! Also no "My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1" folder. Maybe Penumbra didn't create it because I have the German edition of Vista? Another problem: I tried to start Penumbra as administrator (rightclick mouse) and now it wants an activation-code and I don't know how to reset this.

Yes i did..
Tech Demo didn't work....all same....
Opens up Windowed window SDL_app and closes quickly afterwards....
I'm guessing my 64bit windows or realtek audio is causing this behaviour

I do not think it is an audio problem since tech demo and overture use different lowlevel sound libs.
Might be some 64bit driver issue. How are other OpenGL games working? Can you run Doom3?
