RE: The next frictional game. - Googolplex - 03-31-2011 Yes, high-res and photo-realistic textures are very nice! And they did not slow the performance. I only create textures in 2048 x 2048 px. If an engine supports more, then you can create 4096 x 4096 without slow performance. The graphic card memory is big enough in this time and it looks great if textures are looking like a real surface! It is no problem to create big textures and all would be looking much better. Also why not? And if you make a perfect compression, then 2048 x 2048 could be little bigger memory usage as standard resolutions. But without compression it's a little bit sharper and runs fast enough. High-res textures increase graphic quality more than special effects and engine enhancements. Ans it's a simple way. That's kinda surprising. Old news, really? Hadn't heard anything about it. Any other details on it? In many of the interviews that published shortly after Amnesia release, they stated their next game will not be horror game but include some horror elements/parts. RE: The next frictional game. - narutohokager - 04-02-2011 you work on the next game ? you will use the engine as Amnesia ? I wait the new But please do not overdo High-Res Textures because otherwise the game will slow... You can reduce the graphic detail in the game settings. RE: The next frictional game. - Ghostflame - 04-03-2011 Ahh, after Amnesia, I'm sorta hooked on horror games, was hoping for some more by the masters of the aforementioned genre, but, taking their expertise onto other aspects of gaming could have some interesting results, lets just keep our fingers crossed huh. I know but in other games i reduce the graphic detail and is still slow Is for that reason i afraid you overdo High-Res Textures (Sorry my english is bad...)
