Well i think one of the main reasons is that it would be far to intense. As in, if the small monsters scar the crap out of you, imagine what the big fat ones would do. You'll have a heart attack...literally!! Plus even in prison cells they had to tune down the area to make it less scary so that people would actually play it.

Big fat monsters could be contextual, like the water monster. It would obviously only work in huge areas. That way, small hallways could be a safe haven(at least, from the big monster. Grunts could obviously still be lurking in the small hallways), as the doorway would be too small for the big monster. It would make a certain area (like the Choir) into an arena, where you have to dart between safe havens to avoid the monsters. When you're in the arena, however, you're completely at the mercy of the big monster. If it were faster than the other monsters, that would be ideal. I can imagine it getting a pretty big head of steam.

But this is all just wishful thinking. Big Grin

To be honest, I wouldn't mind a big monster as an one time encounter and in a bigger area. Wouldve been nice to have something like escaping from the cylops at the beginning of dark messiah might and magic and escaping from the worm in overture.

Agreed. I think the fatbody enemy type would have fit well in the Choir, which was itself imposingly open and huge.
