Wow. Talk about dredging up a nine month old corpse.

Might take a while to get a response, but you never know!

It's unlikely a response will be given. Nonetheless, I'll keep the thread open. One of the admins can close it if they wish, but if it gets bumped again by a significant time period, we'll close it down.

I'll take a crack at some of the questions.

(07-05-2016, 11:52 AM)GameSpirit Wrote: What is "Dark Swarm" and "Mind Coral" and how did they appeared to PATHOS-2?

Don't know about Dark Swarm, but "mind coral puppet" is another name for Akers and the Proxies. Apparently, the coral is produced when humans swallow structure gel or inject themselves with it.

It introduces Simon, Ashley, and the theme of consciousness. It might also contain a reference (when Ashley says "it's green") to the inverted spectrum thought experiment.

(07-05-2016, 11:52 AM)GameSpirit Wrote: Finally, the last question. Why did The WAU tried to save humans with both stuffing mind scans into robots and creating monsters with structure gel?

It seems like the WAU is experimenting, trying many different approaches. Simon is probably the most successful experiment.

Actually, to this day, I stand by "It's green" referring to a traffic light, she's telling Simon to drive.

I agree that this is what makes sense from an in-universe perspective.

Inverted spectrum could be also observed when Simon got flodded with water. He percieved himself as a human and then the switch happened when he saw himself in different reality.

What do you mean by that?

RE: Ask Anything About SOMA - GhylTarvoke - 07-09-2016

I mean that Simon probably hasn't read about the thought experiment. If "it's green" is indeed a reference, then it's a meta-reference (like Sarah Lindwall referencing Penumbra).

Thanks for your guesswork and answers. But the new Simon creation means that the WAU was ready to sacrifice itself for saving whole manking. I'm sure AI knew that Simon would kill it, but nonetheless created new Simon to help humans.

Didn't thought about it, I think your thoughts really mean facts here.

But if so, why do the game shows the Tracer Fluid when Ashley says it? The game could show the green traffic light instead of the Tracer Fluid.
