RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Alardem - 04-09-2014 So we have the "Jiangshi". Seems pretty generic as far as enemies go. Hope there are monsters that aren't of mammalian origin. Hell, think of Resident Evil: Revelations and the aquatic-themed mutants that game had. The Globsters were particularly disgusting. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Googolplex - 04-09-2014 SOMA is about brains. The most complex subject matter of the universe. I would be interested if the story is about super-brains and its dangerous side of supernatural intelligence. Real super brains: Rüdiger Gamm, the human calculator (german) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jB0gknnwWs&feature=player_detailpage#t=39 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLOphkz3M54 Stephen Wiltshire, the living camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg0GypBr30A Kim Peek, the computer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54aLapMed1Q Orlando Serrell, the calendrical memory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWqNoGKJWBI Christopher Taylor, the language savant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVfyZVaH9ag Gilles Tréhin, perfect pitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f7kw5lIxuE RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Draug - 04-09-2014 (04-09-2014, 05:15 PM)plutomaniac Wrote: It definitely looks like a grunt. If you check the video at 3:40 you will notice that it even makes the same attack animation the grunt does when it tilts the body to the right and uses the left hand to attack. These distortions make it a lot harder to notice but for regular Amnesia players it shouldn't be hard to identify the pattern. But the name jiangshi would fit to that apperance. This best picture I got: Spoiler below!
RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - SeanieTheMan - 04-09-2014 Could the disco ball be some kind of controlling device? A robot is remote controlling the human via the disco ball? Hmm .. I'm saying that it's probably a modified placeholder. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - 7heDubz - 04-10-2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TWHVkMIP1b8 Rewhatch it. And listen closely, we wer'nt paying enough attention, this WHOLE TIME theyve been hinting at underwater. Quote:- Too many objects are floating in the water. I would like it to see a hand full floating objects, but normally things either were swimming on the plane or sinking to the ground. I didn't see this. Quote:- Underwater computers and radio messages? If you look at the video you will see clearly that parts of the undersea station are still intact and do not contain water. That's where there are still intact computers, and where voice messages can be heard. Radio messages under water are of course not a problem at all, within short ranges. Quote:- How can he survive the strong pressure underwater? Using a diving suit. I think it's more likely to explore the concepts of consciousness, self, and the extent to which we identify 'I' with our brain or body or both. Transfer and copying of consciousness, and whether we remain the same person when our brain (or just consciousness), is transferred or copied into another body or even a machine. |
