I don't think the number of people is the "problem". They'll base the release date on how many faults the testers find. More faults, later release date.

I remember that Amnesia The Dark Descent, FG revealed the release date on February 2010 and was released on September.
It's been mentioned from the very beginning that release will happen "somewhere in 2015", nothing changed since then.
Most of the people still predict autumn/q3, but it could happen by the end of 2015 as well, in worst case scenario.
