Say I found something, look at this image that was on that blog post: See the pillars? I've never seen those pillars in Amnesia yet. Something for AFMP? RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - samueljustice00 - 09-08-2012 I don't think we've ever announced HPL2.5? We've taken HPL2 and taken out stuff we don't need for Pigs and added stuff we do. So I'd think of it more as HPL2-Pigs edition. RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Kein - 09-08-2012 (09-08-2012, 11:48 AM)samueljustice00 Wrote: I don't think we've ever announced HPL2.5? RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - 09-08-2012 Quote: Do you know in Amnesia that when you end spawning all the monsters in a place it seems like you're safe and done? So you will be basically get bored finding a thing. They could trigger a concept of randomness which maybe sometimes could trigger a random scare, or a monster that is seen walking but not directly scripted as a ready collide area, maybe everytimes you collide it there is 1/50 of the chance that a monster would spawn. Who knows, if you go around you would cross that area many times and maybe the monster will spawn just behind you and if you're lucky to turn you get scared as fuck and start to take the game more serious.I remember them saying in an interview that they would make sure players won't be able to play the game the way they were used to when playing Amnesia. They also said, if I remember correctly, that they were hesistant to put too many scripts in a level. Now this can be interpreted in many ways, but I think its safe to say, they are going for a more organic and less predictable experience as a whole. I don't think randomization in the way you described is how they're going to do it though (because that would mean more level scripts, not less) - My theory is, they'll be improving the AI instead, so the behavior of the creatures will be less predictable and more lifelike and not every monster encounter will play out the same. Edit: On a sidenote, I think if you go past the same spot in the level that many times, there might be something wrong with your level design RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Macgyverthehero - 09-09-2012 (09-08-2012, 12:12 PM)Kein Wrote:More like HLP2.P instead of HPL2.5.(09-08-2012, 11:48 AM)samueljustice00 Wrote: I don't think we've ever announced HPL2.5? By the way yeah, but in a lot of custom stories people try to search for a key for a lot of time... it would break the monotony The HDR Idea is a pretty cool thing for HPL 3! . I think if some mods are in development in TDD, I hope they will be transferrible to the AMFP's HPL 2.5 so the mod may look better! ^^ (Even if a HPL 2.5 doesn't exist, people will have to transfer AMFP models to ATDD, and ATDD models to AMFP) I think the change of game will make some people lose motivation as they aim more at AMFP than TDD... that's my idea though, what do you think? ^^ People will have to decide what game they have to mod on, else, it would be a complete clusterfuck.. :S RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Googolplex - 09-09-2012 No matter what number the version of AMFP engine has. Add a new monster and call it HPL2.1, add a further new monster and call it HPL2.2, add some new objects and call it HPL2.3, add a new particle and call it HPL2.4, add some new reflections and call it HPL2.5. The number is just a human establishing and said nothing about the improvement. |
