^It's alright :/ but I just get annoyed with the dev. tools. The other 3 tools will not close unless you kill them in task manager 0.0....
How do you resize the main window for the level editor?

In the options, change the resolution.

Some windows are finnicky with closing. Use alt+F4, ESC, or File > Exit. I don't have to terminate any of the editors through the task manager.

^Ok well for me I can only get them to close with the ESC key. Why are the program windows weird? is it because they were originally on Linux?...

No, they act the same in all operating systems. The editors just aren't designed to handle window actions or suggestions (though it is not mandatory for them to do so).

The Wiki advertises the tools as not 100% stable. When HPL3 comes out the tools should be more mature.
