Nowhere that's where. RE: Are we alone? - Nice - 08-28-2013 even though i dont believe theres any other life forms out there, it makes me laugh to see most of people expecting that if there is a life form aka aliens that they are extremely more advanced than us RE: Are we alone? - Ghieri - 08-29-2013 (08-28-2013, 11:12 PM)i3670 Wrote: Hold on here. The thing is that it is very unlikely we will ever make contact with them and the chance of ever "meeting" them or "seeing" them (whatever) is less than the chance of winning 100 lotteries in a row (practically it's 0). This is because if such a civilization exists, it is far more likely that it is many million light years or so away from us (on another galaxy). Our galaxy contains 100-400 billion stars with planets orbiting most of them (this doesn't count interstellar/pulsar planets). Who's to say that no other life exist in our galaxy? RE: Are we alone? - BAndrew - 08-29-2013 @JustAnotherPlayer I didn't say that there is no other life on our galaxy. I don't know that. What I said, is that it is far more likely for a more advanced (than us) civilization to exist in another galaxy. Just because the bible doesn't mention alien life (as far as I know) doesn't mean that all christians deny any possibility for there to be more life in the universe than us. I don't see why the bible should mention if there are aliens out there. God saying: "Oh by the way, there are some guys far beyond your galaxy that you'll never be able to interact with in any way. Just thought I'd mention that." The bible isn't exactly a book on natural science despite what many religious and non-religious people want to say. Personally, I think the universe is too big to not contain any more life than earth. Either microscopic or evolved beyond our level. But the chances of us making contact with an intelligent species are, as BAndrew said, very small. RE: Are we alone? - Deep One - 08-29-2013 B-b-but the alienz are already here, you blind plebs!!! They are like 10000 times more advanced than us but they only draw circles in the crop because illuminati and jesus |
