he meant the one from post #1. It's possible your game is crashing for another reason. Make a new thread about it.

It depends on what your crash issue is. The crash the patch fixes is due to some usb devices making the game crash. Please check the troubleshooting guides for help with your issue, if no help found, then post a new thread with the hpl.log and details as asked in the guides.

its not the 13.10 ^^

this game is strange and it starts when i tried to get it work..

i disabled the xbox wireless receiver in windows device manager (while the .exe was inaktive on task manager) then the game starts. after that i activated the wireless controller and the game and controller work both well. now the game work without that trick very good. also with the original .exe

After the first start now there are many more files in Documents\Amnesia\Pig bevor the first working start it was only the hpl.log

This worked for me. I was getting the same access violation exception. Just in case it matters, I am running windows 8 with two gtx 580s (no sli) and no gamepad connected to my computer.

you have 2x580 without SLI? It doesn't work that way.

My game seems to crash at startup too.

I tried to download the fix you guys provided, but it shows me an error saying my computer is missing something called "SDL.dll"

I'm trying to update my AMD Radeon HD 2000 Graphics card at the moment to see if it works.

Edit: Okay I replaced amfp.exe from the file I downloaded with the one in the Machine For Pigs folder, now it is giving me another error that it can't start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing from my computer.

Last Edit: Alright, I had to add some missing files to my computer, reinstall my driver, and now its running. Just sadly it is a bit laggy, but I think I can manage.

Thanks for offering advice guys!

Make a new thread and provide us with your HPL.log as mentioned at the troubleshooting guide, Problem X

RE: New possible fix to crash at startup - Patch - slikar - 09-11-2013

Please is there any other possible fix? I have done everything that can be done. Im using win7-64bit with intel HD2500 graphics and 4gb ram.

All up to date. I have GOG version. The debug EXE don't work for me its same as original EXE, i also have no USB devices connected to PC. Everytime i get that BLACKBOX error,

''EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module UNKNOWN at 0023:00000000''

Refer to this thread for the solution of the missing XINPUT1_3.dll file:
