RE: Overture crashes at last level the bright hydralic door you use crowbar on - darksamus - 07-21-2009 I also had the crash. I also am running the Steam version and had the phantom update (I think...) Dell XPS M1530 laptop Nvidia 8600M GT Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 @ 2GHz 4GB RAM Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 By the way, I can't seem to upload my crash report. It says "The file upload failed. Please choose a valid file and try again. Error details: The attachment could not be found on the server." When I try to copy and paste the report into a post via spoiler tag, the rest of my post disappears along with everything in it but the post title EDIT: I got the hpl.log into a spoiler tag! RE: Overture crashes at last level the bright hydralic door you use crowbar on - dfg - 07-22-2009 Hello. I'm playing the version downloaded from Steam. I had the same crash at that door; reloading from different save spots did not help. However, manually installing that patch did do the trick! Thanks to Mark for posting it. Loved the game, can't wait to play Black Plague and Requiem. RE: Overture crashes at last level the bright hydralic door you use crowbar on - darksamus - 07-24-2009 Just to update, I did get the phantom update, and I recently installed the patch (after the update). Installing the patch did me no good. I also tried verifying the game files via Steam, but all I got was the phantom update and perfectly verified files. dfg, can you give me the filepath where you installed the patch? I just want to see if it is like mine was. Or rather, I want to confirm that I installed it in the proper place. By the way, great game. Frictional Games, you did an awesome job. I have played horror games that spook me and scare the crap out of me, but only Penumbra gave me a truly realistic, deep down scare, like what I would experience in a real life situation. Bravo for making me have to stop playing after 20 minutes because I was disturbed in the head by it. I have not even played Black Plague yet! Just Overture. Spoiler below!
