According to Thomas, the film won't be released on the 22nd along with the game, but says there "might" be a theatrical release:

It's Cool dude, no worries.
Yeah, I'm taking that to mean it's not really in Thomas's hands and in the hands of Imagos films / the production company.
Hopefully it's not a theatrical release limited to the Seattle region or something.

Just asked Thomas directly about the film. He......well.... for lack of a better word declined to comment on it. LOL
So who knows at this point. Kind of silly considering that Depth's existence is pretty obvious....hell, i found out about Soma Because of Vivarium.
But I imagine he can not say anything...all kinds of legal stuff involved with these sort of things. so who knows.
