Indeed it looks like it was an oversight. Perhaps nebej can throw that in there along with this update?

It comes from 1.3, where controller support was added. The SDL2 lines were added, and as of update 1.311, the game alerts you if they are missing. Looks like they were just forgotten for Justine.

About Master Archivist: I started a new game, played through the story in one session and it unlocked after I picked up the last note so unfortunately i can't tell if it was the fact that i started a new game or that I picked up every note in TDD in one play session that triggered it.
And about Insanity: I can also confirm that it doesn't unlock.
However all other achievements in A:TDD (+Justine) seem to work now.

The 2 remaining A Machine for Pigs achievements work now.

The Dark Descend stops responding right away on the current beta.

Same here. A black screen after launching TDD (or Justine) and after pressing any key the message "Amnesia.exe not responding" shows up. Launcher itself works though.

Yes - upon starting it goes into a loading state which seems to last forever or much longer than normal. During this loading, it is not responsive, so if it's just taking long or completely freezing up is unknown. However it never changes from "Amnesia The Dark Descent - Loading" in the title bar, which probably means this occurs somewhere in the boot sequence, not after?

The log shows no useful info. It promptly stops after User Initialization.

Upon opting into the achievement beta on Steam, every time I launch the game it does nothing and promptly crashes. After setting the game back to opting out of the beta it worked fine. Please help.

Yes, it works fine as usual when you opt out of the beta. I guess something went wrong in this new update.

The current main Amnesia Steam build (1558434), which merged the [achievement_beta] build contents now causes the game to crash shortly after starting up, the bug mentioned over the past few posts has not been addressed.

For anybody looking for a temporary solution to play A:TDD:
- Right Click Amnesia - The Dark Descent in your Steam Library
- Under the Local Files tab, select the Browse Local Files button
- Run Amnesia_NoSteam.exe.
