Frictional has already said their next major project isn't going to be related to Amnesia so honestly..it really doesn't matter. And personally I'd rather they do something different anyways. I loved Amnesia, I loved Penumbra, and I'm sure whatever they do next I will love as well.

Me too. Have they said anything about whether or not they're going to be using the same first-person engine from Amnesia?

From what I've read, they are upgrading the Amnesia engine (HPL2) to HPL3 which they will run their super secret new project on. With Amnesias wonderful graphics and gameplay I will probably be blown away by the new engine!

I know, I can't wait. I think Penumbra looked a little better. Maybe it's just me, cuz the setting was more modern than Amnesia so I liked it a little more. But yeah Amnesia looked awesome and I'm going to replay both Penumbra and Amnesia as soon as my new computer comes in. The laptop I got now doesn't exactly have the power to let me turn the graphics' settings up Sad. So me and my new Sandy Bridge will be looking forward to HPL3.

Graphically Amnesia is superior, there's just no questioning that, it just is. Now you can prefer the look of Penumbra's environments, but Amnesia is still the technically superior game in that respect.

Yep. I just meant...not graphically speaking. Cuz Penumbra's more modern-lookin. I know Amnesia looks better overall, and I haven't even gotten the total experience yet cuz I've had the resolution and settings down just to get the framerate acceptable. New computer in 3 days and all settings will be maxed. Yeah I can't wait to see what this new HPL3 will look like. Definately excited. Anyone heard anything on it?

Far as I know Frictional has been pretty tight lipped on it. Only real details I can think of are that it won't be a sequel to Amnesia and that it won't be futuristic/set in space.

Well that's good. Amnesia was good as far as being set in the past. But I'm not too into that sci-fi stuff that takes place 300 years from now

I dunno, I think if Frictional gave their take on sci-fi/horror we could end up with something on the same level as the original Alien movie, and it would be amazing.

Yeah if anyone could pull it off I'm sure they could. I'm gettin whatever they release either way.
