There are a few different links on that thread, to which are you reffering? Pardon me if I'm just being stupid.

Well....I've tried everything. It's dissapointing that I spent $20 on a computer icon, but it's even more dissapointing that I didn't get to play a game I was really looking forward to...

Sorry for anyone whos time I wasted asking for help...

You should've tried the free demo as your graphic card seems to be unable to play the game.

Still, if you can update your graphic card drivers there is a faint chance you can play the game in lowest settings.

Even so, with 512 MB of RAM and an ancient generic graphics card, there is pretty much no chance of him actually playing normally.

That computer sounds very ancient, you should look into upgrading if you want to play PC games.

I wouldn't get a laptop to play Amnesia. Desktops are cheaper, more powerful, and offer better immersion.

Just me though.

Yeah, but my desktop I have to share with my father, and I'm not sure replacing it just for Amnesia is worth it. And there's no where else to put a desktop aside from the current space it's in. And I already have a couple other games that could use better graphics and such, the only problem I can see with a laptop is getting used to the tiny keyboard, but you can plug a keyboard in the USB if I'm not mistaken.

Um, I also got more money than I expected today, so raise the price from 200-300 to 400-500, so if there's any great laptops around that price, that have powerful graphic capabilities, that any of you are aware of, go ahead and let me know? I'm going Laptop shopping tommorow, so a fast reply would be appreciated. Hopefully there are no more problems regarding Amnesia. I've heard many great things about this game, some of which came from posts on this very forum. I also plan on doing a let's play for youtube, if anybody cares(which I doubt because I'm fairly new) and hopefully, I can become a more integrated member of this community. I'm looking forward to it, guys! Smile

I doubt that you'll find a good gaming laptop for US $400-500. Anything with a decent video card will be upwards of around $1000.

My laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6086, was around $800. It doesn't have a decent video card, just an integrated Intel HD Graphics one.

It would probably be possible to build a kinda decent desktop for $500, though. Or check around on Craigslist, you can find some good cheap things there.

I'm not really concerned with a good gaming laptop...there's only one game I currently play, and I only need a graphics card capable of running Amnesia...
I can spend up to 750(because of tax, and I only have around 820)
So? Any laptops around $750 with drivers capable of running Amnesia?

RE: What the hell do I do... - TFEF - 07-24-2011

My laptop meets Amnesia's requirements (although barely), and you could probably find a decent laptop for ~$700, if you tried. I'm not terribly familiar with laptops. Craigslist would be a good place to look, if very many people actually use it in your area.
