There are plenty of cats that are really dependent and loving and touchy-feely. It depends on their personality and how much attention they get as kittens. My current and previous cats are both very personable, but the last one was very dependent because I gave him massive attention throughout his life, so he was exceptionally friendly to everyone and wanted to be a part of what I did most of the time. Even came to me on command.

Also your cat is cute.

The cat we have currently was the same way--shy and quiet, who didn't act or play much like a cat at all.

But a month or two later, he's batting string, he's calm and collected around large gatherings, and he simply ADORES disemboweling his stuffed animals with his hind claws.

Once they get comfortable in a location and with an owner, they can easily move beyond whatever trauma they experienced previously.

Though you would never be able to rub my cat's stomach. Uh-uh. He's very affectionate, but don't touch his underbelly.

He looks like such a cute ktty. XD

I have two cats; one has a loud purr, the other has a quiet one. When i first got him, you couldn't hear his purr at all, but it's gotten louder as he's gotten older. Both of them are also excellent mousers and keep the little critters in check when they come inside during the winter months.

lol I hope my cat stays quiet xD
My brothers cat sounds like a small motor boat, always purring. She loves people, and its cute when your in petting mode. But when your in sleeping mode and you hear a motorboat under your bed you get kinda annoyed xD

Cats don't give a flying fuck. Period.

I like cats and dogs.

Thats sadly true.
Sad
One thing I do know is that when a cat brushes itself against you it's not doing it as a sign of love, the cat is infact marking you as their own from other cats.

Yeah, but thats because it loves you Tongue
It doesnt want anybody else to touch you, I belive you dont have a cat...

No, I don't. But I've met my fair share of them and while they seem pleasant and amiable creatures, eager to rub up against you in that slinky fashion of theirs, they're not about to leap to your aid or fend off attackers should you find yourself in that situation.

Not that that's a bad thing, that'd be like complaining about your car because it doesn't have rocket launchers. Cats aren't meant as protection (except from rodents and, in Egyptian culture, spirits), dogs are. Hence the term "guard dog".

There's something wrong with the music in the background...
