Just follow these steps no matter what you have done to the game and the latest stutterfix will be applied correctly. Well as a final try, I deleted the game, deleted My Documents/amesia, cleared all registry values, then did a clean install of Amnesia A Machine For Pigs - Got to select profile menu and exited to generate a main_settings.cfg file. - Installed the patch 5 properly, verified the files within that .zip were in my main install folder of amnesia, deleted main_settings.cfg - Launced the setup launcher and the game did not detect my gfx card so set it to medium - Created new profile and new game - Soon as game is done with the first cut scene, stuttering every second that I walk, wait 5 minutes, game is still stuttering every second that I walk, every half second when running. Not sure how to proceed further as every avenue seems to be exhausted, the game is virtually unplayable on my end. Specs i7 GTX 670M 12GB Ram RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - plutomaniac - 09-16-2013 Have you tried different settings at .cfg file for StreamBufferSize? You have to proceed with 1024 intervals meaning 1024 -> 2048 -> 4096 -> 8192 -> 16384 -> 32768 (stutter5fix current value). As I already said, you don't have to uninstall the game every time. It's not needed and you are getting tired for no reason. You can simply edit your current main_settings.cfg with the values mentioned above (first try 4096 & 8192 as lower than that will most probably cause sound issues), make a new profile and start a new game. RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - Robby - 09-16-2013 A bit odd when some people with powerful setups are having severe performance issues while someone with a weaker setup (like me) can run the game at a solid 20-60FPS on 1024x768 (I rarely get that). My setup, btw: AMD Athlon X2 II 250 (3.0GHZ, dual-core) Nvidia GeForce 9500GT DDR2 1GB 2GB DDR3 RAM (either 1066MHZ or 1333MHZ, PC can't detect properly) It could also be caused by certain "features", but I don't know. It runs fine here, and it's weird considering my weaker PC. RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - plutomaniac - 09-16-2013 It's not really about graphics settings or fps in this thread's case because the stuttering problem can appear even on the highest-end machines no matter what settings are chosen. It's more of a audio optimization issue would be my guess. RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - spidernetlabs - 09-16-2013 Another day, another test(s): Test #1: modified .cfg (StreamBufferSize="8192") - new profile - new game - custom graphics settings -> crackling sounds, massive frame drops even on the main menu, stutters; Test #2: modified .cfg (StreamBufferSize="16384") - new profile - new game - custom graphics settings -> crackling sounds, massive frame drops even on the main menu, stutters; Test #3: modified .cfg (StreamBufferSize="32768") - new profile - new game - custom graphics settings -> stutters. Previous tests here. Specs: i3 540 @ 3.06 GHz 8 Gb RAM @ 1333 MHz ATI Radeon HD 4670 w/ 256 Mb Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA - 179 Gb free. Fragmentation: 1% in 3 years. I've never done a defrag. And Mac OS X doesn't need to. I'm out of ideas. RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - jens - 09-16-2013 Can you post your hpl.log so we can verify that the game is running on the 670M and not the integrated intel chip? Even on the lowest settings I still get stutters; If I omit the stutters I get a decent frame rate, 30-50 fps depending on the level. Maybe it's not all my GPU's fault.
