[Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs] Fan Mod - mrlego611 - 11-02-2012 So, I was wondering. Since we already have the trailers and all and now that we know how AAMFP might look like, how about creating a fan mod that we can play using HPL2! Someone can make some pig mutant models and some edited pig sounds and stuff like that. Isn't that a great idea? It can be a total conversion mod too rather than a custom story. RE: [Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs] Fan Mod - The chaser - 11-02-2012 Of course, making pig models is so easy... of course, pig sounds. I think AAMFP will use HPL2, so it wouldn't be necessary. RE: [Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs] Fan Mod - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - 11-02-2012 In theory its kind of a neat idea. In practice? Not so much Not only would it be an insane amount of work, but its also rather pointless - if its supposed to look like the trailer, that means we're basically just creating lower-quality versions of the amazing 3d models we'll get anyway when the game comes out. The pig monster might be interesting to do, since its still open for interpretation what it will look like - but I doubt anybody here has the time to create such a detailed and animated character model. I guess you're right. RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Zaffre - 11-02-2012 I have 3.50 gigs of RAM (soon to be 8) and an Nvidia GT 430. Do you think I could run this game on high? IMPORTANT EDIT: It's an Nvidia GeForce GT 430 if that makes a difference. RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Acies - 11-02-2012 As I have understood it (take nothing of this as facts): 1. AMFP is essentially developed on HPL2. Any additions will be minor, such as the added "walk-script" for Justine. 2. If you can run Amnesia on X setting you can run AMFP on X setting. Looking at the trailer I like the steampunky puzzles, the bathroom section, the curved meshes of the lamps (and the lamps themselves), part of the outside section (I'd love to see some weird style on the houses + weird style houses on the skybox). I feel as if the sounds have been given great thought :] Cred to the sound artist (and the chinese room)! RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Kreekakon - 11-02-2012 @Acies: The first thing is probably true from what I've seen. The second however isn't as Jens has already stated that AMFP will require higher specs: Jens Wrote:Higher requierments. If Amnesia was meant to run OK on mid and high end computers from 2004-2005 and later, then pig will run on similar from around 2007 and later or something like that. We have not come so far yet that the requierments are nailed down. But can say that the levels are much more complex and detailed that it is not possible to keep the same requierments as for the original game. RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - maarten12100 - 11-02-2012 (11-02-2012, 02:20 PM)Zaffre Wrote: I have 3.50 gigs of RAM (soon to be 8) and an Nvidia GT 430. Do you think I could run this game on high?It is a weak card but you could play medium with enchantments off SSAO AA etc It will be about as heavy as amensia since the engine hasn't really changed but the maps are bigger so vram cache has to be bigger to avoid vram>ram memory swapping which impacts framerate extremely. Mayby you should upgrade to like a hd7750 or replace the entire pc and choose a hd7850 or gtx660 RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - GrAVit - 11-02-2012 Howbout an Intel i5 2320 (3Ghz), and 6GB RAM? I'm just very concerned about this since I have serious frame drops on ATDD. Maybe these frame drops will be fixed in AAMFP and the game will take greater advantage of hardware instead of making it drop frames? RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion - Lucas - 11-02-2012 Would 2.1 gigs of RAM, quad core and GT 9800 run this fine? |
