Q: where is the Linux version available?
It apparently is on Steam but not on GOG or Ubunu Software-Center...
I discovered TDD by browsing the Ubuntu Software Center...

I wonder if there will be also a Mac App Store version, for Mac Users

You have to ask GOG about their system requierments, can't help that they don't use what we give them
Windows XP is not supported. Which means that sure the game might work perfectly well, but if it does not then sorry we can't help you as we don't officially support it.

Don't think USC does pre-orders, but the plan is to have the game on there on launch.
