RE: My new computer - OriginalUsername - 07-07-2013 Mhmm... Okay :'( I'm just guessing it'll fit in any corsair case, so I'll look more into those RE: My new computer - plutomaniac - 07-07-2013 It does fit if you want that case. If you tight these 4 screws around it shouldn't have any problem. Water Coolers are not that easy sometimes when it comes to case compatibility. Usually, to be safe, make sure the case manufacturer says 240mm radiator mounting. Also, sometimes the holes may be there but there is no space between the mobo and the top of the case to fit properly one. That's the case with my...case for example. RE: My new computer - Your Computer - 07-08-2013 If you're planning on using air cooling until you figure out water cooling, you may want to consider a case that has a hole under the CPU (and probably even a removable motherboard tray). That way you wouldn't have to unmount the motherboard to change the CPU heatsink (e.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133191 has a big enough hole). RE: My new computer - plutomaniac - 07-08-2013 you mean a cpu tray. Pretty much every case has one nowadays. Also, he wants a H100i now. RE: My new computer - OriginalUsername - 07-08-2013 Here's an updated list: Case CPU cooler GPU (Not sure about this one. Might become a 780) CPU MOBO SSD PSU RAM MONITOR (x2) RE: My new computer - plutomaniac - 07-08-2013 Looking good, I also added the monitor we discussed at your post above. The reason why I did not recommend you a 780 is because they are expensive. Any 780 is 200$ more expensive from the 770 that you have chosen. RE: My new computer - OriginalUsername - 07-08-2013 That's true, but is it worth it? Is it that much better than the 770? RE: My new computer - plutomaniac - 07-08-2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CQAbBU43mpo#t=218s Almost 30%. This video will answer your questions. The 780 is almost a Titan which is amazing performance. If you can save 200$ then go for it. RE: My new computer - maarten12100 - 07-08-2013 The GTX770 is a rebranded chip with some faster memory and a vast core OC. Either GTX780 or HD7970. You would be better of getting 3 displays if going with Nvidia as 2 way surround isn't working (they're working on it though) Rumor has that AMD may release new cards once they fix their CF frame metering "issue" RE: My new computer - plutomaniac - 07-08-2013 (07-08-2013, 12:06 PM)maarten12100 Wrote: The GTX770 is a rebranded chip with some faster memory and a vast core OC. I agree that either you pay some more and go for a 780 or go for a 7970 as it seems that AMD is offering slightly better performance/money at the moment for cards below Titan/780 performance. But sure, 780 is a beast almost a Titan. Where did you hear that 2 way surround is not working? It works just fine. And for two displays it does not matter if you get AMD or Nvidia. Also, 2 displays already cost some money. That frame monitoring issue, needs a hardware fix and so these rumors are not accurate. I wouldn't expect a new AMD card in 2013. Maybe in December or something. Either way, he wants new stuff now so these cards are out of the table. |
