It's going to be because Konami is giving it the proper resources since Kojima agreed to attach himself to it. I'll be honest I don't know about how the internal workings of Silent Hill's development cycle has gone over the years, and if talent, or money had a bigger influence in their quality. My personal theory is that while money did play a factor, the talent of the development team behind it played a much bigger role. It's too much of a coincidence that the quality of the games corresponded to what studios were making them. Like Silent Hills 1-3 being great, and Silent Hill Origins, and Shattered Memories being "not so bad". 4 I assume was due to Team Silent deciding take chances to experiment with a new formula for the games. They definitely could handle it given their success with the last three games. It's only unfortunate that it didn't really seem to have paid off. RE: Silent Hills Thread - Cuyir - 08-25-2014 Nah, Nyarla's right. Konami's been giving SH the ''lets not spend much on this project and rely entirely on the rabid fanbase to make money'' scheme. So this is a great sign. I mean, just watching other people play it is bad enough. Have really high hopes for this. No you misunderstood me I think. I can't imagine doing it because it would be too scary for me. RE: Silent Hills Thread - Googolplex - 05-20-2015 Very sad news. The development is cancelled. The future of this awesome game is actually unsettled. RE: Silent Hills Thread - Traggey - 05-20-2015 Old news! But yes it is dead. Thankfully PT was cool enough to be its own game. I think "unsettled" is too optimistic. It's just cancelled. I strongly suspect Konami are done with Silent Hill. The dream is over... ![]() But wait... I feel a prophesy coming on... [goes into trance] When September's leaves fall to the floor, And the snake has slithered out the door, The excellent man will call for alms, The mother of god, with open palms, Her spirit's heir will dream once more... Oh wow, what just happened? Did I type something? RE: Silent Hills Thread - Traggey - 05-20-2015 Yeah the game is 100 % gone, but if we get lucky Kojima might want to do something in the future. RE: Silent Hills Thread - Googolplex - 07-20-2015 Hey, I red that Silent Hills is not cancelled! Only Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima are no longer part of the team. It's planned to get released on Halloween 2016 for consoles. PC maybe later.
