I'll be honest I don't know about how the internal workings of Silent Hill's development cycle has gone over the years, and if talent, or money had a bigger influence in their quality.
My personal theory is that while money did play a factor, the talent of the development team behind it played a much bigger role.
It's too much of a coincidence that the quality of the games corresponded to what studios were making them. Like Silent Hills 1-3 being great, and Silent Hill Origins, and Shattered Memories being "not so bad".
4 I assume was due to Team Silent deciding take chances to experiment with a new formula for the games. They definitely could handle it given their success with the last three games. It's only unfortunate that it didn't really seem to have paid off.

Nah, Nyarla's right.
Konami's been giving SH the ''lets not spend much on this project and rely entirely on the rabid fanbase to make money'' scheme.
So this is a great sign.

Seeing how MGS5 is coming to PC, I also am optimistic that SH will also port over.
Why wouldn't you play with headphones/surround sound in a dark room? I do that with every horror game, no matter how little horror it may have.
No you misunderstood me I think. I can't imagine doing it because it would be too scary for me.

I think "unsettled" is too optimistic. It's just cancelled. I strongly suspect Konami are done with Silent Hill. The dream is over...

Yeah the game is 100 % gone, but if we get lucky Kojima might want to do something in the future.

Hey, I red that Silent Hills is not cancelled! Only Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima are no longer part of the team.
It's planned to get released on Halloween 2016 for consoles. PC maybe later.
